Ok, so anytime I make granola, it always turns out different because of the ingredients or the quantity of them. I always write my measurements down and after tasting this one and with other family members and friends approval, we’ve decided this is my best one yet. Practice makes perfect right?
Organic RN’s best granola recipe (aka Organic Sunflower Seed Granola)
3 cup organic oats
1 tbsp organic brown sugar
2 tbsp chia seeds
2 tbsp ground flax seed
2 tbsp unsweetened shredded coconut
2 tbsp hemp seed
1/4 cup raw sunflower seeds
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup organic coconut oil
1/4 cup pure maple syrup
1/4-1/2 raisins (optional, add after it is baked)
Preheat oven to 300 F. Mix the first 9 ingredients together in a large bowl. Melt the coconut oil and mix with maple syrup. Add mix to the dry ingredients (add raisins after it’s baked). Stir until combined. Place on cookie sheet lined with Parchment paper (preferably unbleached and chlorine free!). Bake for 35 minutes. Set timer for 10 minute intervals and stir every 10 minutes until done. Let cool before you store in Mason Jar. Add the raisins while it’s cooling. I eat mine on top of my yogurt or kefir or as a cereal with almond milk.
